Meet Our Team

Christopher J. West, DMD, was born in Nassau, Bahamas, but moved to south Florida with his parents in 1979 when he was just a few years old to attend grade school. He graduated from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1992 where he played football for the Palm Beach Gardens Gators. Furthering his education Dr. West obtained a BS in Biological Science from Florida State University, and an MS in Environmental Science from Florida Atlantic University for his research growing staghorn coral in aquaculture. Prior to dental school Dr. West also had the opportunity to teach science at Palm Beach Lakes High School, where he was the assistant coach for the soccer, swimming, and volleyball teams. In addition, he also worked as a lead biologist protecting and restoring south Florida’s wetlands and estuaries.

In 2001, Dr. West moved to Philadelphia, PA to attend dental school at Temple University. He graduated with high honors, summa cum laude, from Temple University’s dual degree DMD / MBA program. He also completed his orthodontic residency at Temple, where he received an MS in Oral Biology for his research involving an “In-Vitro Study of Invisalign Attachment Effectiveness”. Dr. West has exceptional credentials and is committed to excellence in the practice of orthodontics. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the North Palm Beach Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the Florida Association of Orthodontists.

When Dr. West is not in his practice he enjoys surfing, boating, scuba diving, beach volleyball, golf, and running on the beach with his two dogs, Trooper and Killington. Dr. West was also recently married to Shelley A. Harrelson, a Florida native, who is the assistant branch manager for Commerce Bank in Juno Beach. Dr. and Mrs. West reside in Tequesta and will soon be starting their own family!

Welcome to Family Orthodontics! My name is Shelley and I am the Office Manager for the practice. I was born and raised right here in Palm Beach County. I am the daughter of Keith and Judy Harrelson and the middle child of three girls. I attended Boca Raton Community High School. In high school I was varsity cheerleader and graduated with honors in 1998. After high school, I went to FSU and completed a Bachelors degree in Biological Science and a minor in Chemistry. While attending FSU, I was an active member of the Delta Zeta sorority.

In 1998, I met Christopher during a family vacation in the Florida Keys. . We dated throughout college and moved to Philadelphia while Christopher completed his dental education. In 2007 we moved back to Jupiter and married in 2008.

Today, we live in Jupiter with our two dogs Killington and Trooper. In addition to my position with the practice, I also work part time for TD Bank. In my free time, I enjoy boating, fishing, scuba diving, snowboarding and spending time with my husband and family.

My name is Natalie and I am proud to be the Orthodontic Assistant to Dr. West. I have been working as an Orthodontic Assistant for 9 years and I am happy to say that I love what I do. I was born in New York, but raised here in South Florida. I graduated top of my class from Piper High School. After high school, I first became certified as an orthodontic assistant and then later completed my certification for Dental Radiology from Nova Southeastern University.

In my personal life, I love to travel. I have had the great opportunity to visit North Africa and Morocco. While visiting Morocco, I met and fell in love with my husband. We have been married for three years and the greatest reward of our marriage has been the gift of our two year old son Adam. Adam brings us so much happiness! When I can, I enjoy photography and playing the clarinet. I am best at being a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend.

I have the pleasure of taking care of the marketing and public relations for Family Orthodontics. My role is to create a presence in the Community and create relationships in an effort to grow our practice.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York. I attended Lancaster High School where I spent all of my time playing basketball and softball. After High School, I attended ECC College, received my Associates Degree in Business Management and landed a great job with an International Company as an account manager for both New York and Pennsylvania. In 2004, after 14 years and five children I decided it was time to leave my job and be a stay –at –home mom. In 2007, my husband accepted a job in West Palm Beach. We moved to Jupiter and Dr. West began treating my children. It was during that time that I accepted my position with Family Orthodontics.

Outside of Family Orthodontics, I am a proud wife to Peter and mother to Jake, Josh, Sam, Lauren and Margaret. I spend my time caring for my family and enjoy every minute of it! I am truly blessed!
